For angel investors, due diligence (DD) is a really important part of the investment journey. It’s the process of research, questioning and understanding that angels use to help make an informed decision about whether any given investment opportunity is right for them.

Here at Obu, we choose the businesses that raise investment with us thoughtfully and carefully. That’s because we want our platform to be full of positive, purposeful, investment-ready businesses offering credible opportunities to angel investors. It’s something Obu angels tell us they really value.

Something important is happening in the investment world. Powerful, influential, disruptive women and allies are using their platform, their experience and their capital to raise awareness of inequality, and fuel real change.

World-famous women like Melinda French Gates and Serena Williams are launching venture capital funds that celebrate diversity, take the gender bias out of due diligence and look through new lenses to meet unseen, unmet needs.

The UK government set up the Seed Enterprise Investment Scheme (SEIS) and its sister initiative, the Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS) to incentivise investment in early-stage and scaling businesses, helping them access the funding to grow.

This week more than 10 million people, from more than 200 countries, will be celebrating Global Entrepreneurship Week, and we’re counting ourselves in.
